As one method of combating cultism and other social vices, the Ogun State House of Assembly has urged parents and guardians to be more deliberate in instilling moral and nation-building values in their wards.

During the Thursday plenary in Abeokuta, the assemblyman representing the Odeda State Constituency, Assemblyman Oludaisi Elemide, made the argument that prompted the speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, to make the appeal.

Additionally, he urged local authorities to work with law enforcement to get rid of criminals, many of whom are discovered to be members of secret cults.

The state’s top lawmaker expressed sympathy to the Nigerian Union of Teachers, the Nigeria Labour Congress, and Comrade Sunday Ogunjimi’s close family members after he passed away during the most recent industrial action in the state.

Rt Hon. Oluomo urged the populace, particularly workers, to be always aware of their health status.
