Thousands of people flocked to London today for the greatest royal celebration in decades, as Trooping the Colour and a stunning fly-past kicked off four days of Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Union flag attire, flags, and hats adorned royal superfans as they lined The Mall between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square – where massive crowds also gathered – to watch the Queen’s historic birthday march begin.

As early as 8 a.m. today, groups were seen cracking champagne glasses and screaming God Save the Queen, rousing up hardcore supporters who had slept in chairs, tents, and even on the sidewalk overnight to gain a perfect spot for today’s celebrations.

Some had traveled in from as far as Australia, Canada, and the United States specifically for the historic event, while others had rushed from Europe’s Germany and Italy to take in the atmosphere.

The sun was shining brightly, and the masses were ecstatic as members of the public conversed and joked with the officers manning the boundary. Several handcrafted signs hung from the barriers, one of which simply said “thank you.”

Crowds were crammed eight rows deep as they rushed to catch a glimpse of the royal action on their phones as they scrambled to catch a glimpse of the celebrations.

As troops in brilliant red uniforms and bearskin helmets made their way down The Mall towards Horse Guard Parade, the audience applauded and clapped loudly.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, and a beaming Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, accompanied by her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, received even more applause as the royals made their way down The Mall in carriages.
