The grim death of an 11-year-old Grimsby schoolgirl is the subject of an ongoing inquest.

After being discovered on May 4 at a residence in Whitby Drive, Grimsby, Roxy-Mae Barber’s death is still unsolved.

Her distraught family members came to Cleethorpes Town Hall for the start of the proceedings, where they were formally welcomed by Marianne Johnson, assistant coroner for North East Lincolnshire.

She informed Roxy-mother Mae’s Tracy Woodliffe and uncle Ben Woodliffe that the inquest would be postponed to a later date.

Additionally, she attested to the deceased’s July 2010 birthdate.

he passed away in her home on May 4, 2022. Tracy Woodliffe made her out to be who she was.

The investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.

The hearing was postponed to a date in January of the following year.

Following Roxy-passing, Mae’s the entire neighbourhood showed its love and support for the family, transforming the garden of her home into a vibrant and moving memorial.

Early in June, she had a memorial ceremony, which was followed by a funeral at the Laceby cemetery.

Donations to the RSPCA were encouraged as a tribute to her love of animals, and mourners were encouraged to wear bright clothing in her honour.

A funeral notice noted that Roxy-Mae was a “cherished granddaughter, niece, and cousin who will be terribly lost,” in addition to her parents Mike and Tracy, stepmother Nikki, siblings Charlie, Ben, and Mason.
