Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo State, has taken his yearly leave and delegated authority to his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, to act in his absence.

Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Projects, said in a statement that the governor has written to the Edo State Assembly to inform them of the development.

He said: “The governor has proceeded on his annual leave and has transferred power to his deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu. The Edo State House of Assembly has been duly informed about the development.”

The administration’s adherence to the democratic ideals entrenched in the 1999 constitution would be further strengthened by this second transfer of authority from the governor to his deputy.
