The footage, which lasted 90 seconds, shows the vehicle being driven at high speeds before abruptly applying the brakes and spinning around.

Driving Licence Revoked

Gwent Police confirmed that the driver, an 18-year-old man, had his driving licence revoked by the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) after being convicted of careless driving in Fairfiled Carpark, Abergavenny.

As part of their efforts to maintain safety in the area, the police stated that patrols, CCTV reviews, and the use of car park gates will continue.

Grounds for Licence Revocation

According to government guidelines, a driving licence can be revoked if an individual no longer meets the licensing criteria or if they are convicted of a relevant criminal offence.

The guidelines also mention that a licence may be suspended if the person is deemed to pose a threat to public safety or if it is deemed to be in the public interest to do so.
