HIT AND RUN: Teenage Boy found dead

After a victim was discovered laying on a road in an apparent hit-and-run, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Eastern Cape is investigating a case of culpable homicide.

A person spotted the body of a teenage guy lying on Route R63 in the early hours of Sunday, and police received a call.

The body of a teenage boy was discovered between Qonce and Masingata on Route R63.

Lisakhanya Lwana, 17, was identified as the adolescent.

When the police arrived, they discovered that the dead had suffered multiple injuries.

In another incident, a truck and a bakkie crashed on the R54 in Vereeniging heading towards Villers yesterday, killing the driver.

The driver was trapped inside the on-fire bakkie.

Midvaal Fire ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and managed to put out the fire, however the driver had suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the spot by paramedics.

There were no injuries to the truck driver..driver..

The incident’s circumstances remain unknown, however local authorities were on the site to conduct additional inquiries.

The Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service was dispatched to the Blood River Crossing in Kwazulu-Natal yesterday afternoon for reports of a collision.

When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered two vehicles involved in an accident.

Paramedics arrived on the site promptly and discovered two patients with minor injuries.

The patients were treated on the spot before being taken to the hospital for additional care.
