There are no unusual circumstances surrounding the death of a young police officer from New South Wales who was discovered dead in a park, according to authorities.

Concerns for the welfare of the young off-duty officer prompted police to initiate a search for him around 10:30 p.m. on Friday.

The following morning, his colleagues located the Bankstown Police Area Command officer.

Saturday at 12:40 a.m., Constable Tanzeel Iftikhar Bashir, age 23, was discovered in the Royal National Park, south of Sydney.

Homicide Squad detectives have initiated a critical incident investigation and will write a report for the Coroner.

Mr. Bashir’s family, colleagues, and the entire NSW Police force have received support.

The young officer was honored by his family and friends as a “loyal son, brother, and friend.”

One said, “Rest in peace to an incredible legend.”

On Tuesday, a funeral for the ‘great man’ will be place at the Lakemba Mosque.
