SuperSport United Signs Former Kaizer Chiefs Striker Samir Nurkovic on a One-and-a-Half-Year Deal Amid Bradley Grobelar’s Injury Crisis in South Africa

SuperSport United has officially wrapped up their search for a new striker, and it’s former Kaizer Chiefs player Samir Nurkovic who will now join the ranks of the three-time Premier Soccer League champions.

After parting ways with TS Galaxy, Nurkovic has inked a one-and-a-half-year deal with SuperSport, stepping in to fill the void left by Bradley Grobelar’s long-term injury.

The club confirmed the news with excitement: “SuperSport United FC is pleased to announce the signature of Serbian striker Samir Nurković on a one-and-a-half year deal. Welcome home, Samir,” they said in a statement.

Kaizer Chiefs Part Ways with Sibongiseni Mthethwa

Meanwhile, a new development at Kaizer Chiefs suggests the club is parting ways with midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa.

The 30-year-old, who hails from Escourt, KwaZulu Natal, has struggled to make an impact under coach Nasreddine Nabi this season.

Without even a spot on the bench, sources indicate that Chiefs have decided to release the former Stellenbosch FC star.

An insider shared with The Citizen that while Chiefs won’t let Mthethwa go for free, the club is ready to put him on the transfer list.

“He’s a quality player, so there will be interest, but it’s unlikely that Chiefs will recover the full amount they spent on him,” the source added.

This decision follows a hefty fee paid last year when Mthethwa was brought in from Stellenbosch, after a strong stint with Bafana Bafana.
