The month of April has seen no fewer than three teams represented for the top individual awards as announced by the PSL.
On Monday, the league announced Cape Town City mentor Eric Tinkler as the Coach of the Month for April.
During that period, Tinkler took charge of five matches of which City won three and played to two draws.
As a result, City collected 10 points from a possible 15 – and Tinkler’s efforts have now been recognised.
Kaizer Chiefs were also represented in April with Keagan Dolly walking away with the Goal of the Month award for his efforts.
Dolly’s free-kick against Chippa United was voted the best by the fans, and this is his second Goal of the Month award this season.
Lastly, Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile was named the Player of the Month for April by the league.
Shalulile’s back-to-back hat-tricks during that month of April did him a world of good as the judges felt he earned his stripes.
The Namibia international beat Craig Martin and Hugo Marques of Cape Town City and Victory Letsoalo of Royal AM to the individual award.
WHO DID TINKLER BEAT TO THE COACH OF THE MONTH AWARD?
According to the PSL, Tinkler went head-to-head with Manqoba Mngqithi and Rhulani Mokwena of Sundowns as well as Royal AM’s John Maduka.
However, the panel of judge felt Tinkler did more than his competitors as his side shot to second on the PSL log after picking up important points in the process.
