Springboks to play Wales in World Cup friendly

– Cape Town SA Rugby confirmed on Monday that the Springboks will meet Wales at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on August 19, 2023 in a World Cup warm-up match.

The world champions will begin their title defense against Scotland in Marseille on September 10, followed by Pool B matches against Romania (September 17 in Bordeaux), Ireland (September 23 in Paris), and Tonga (October 1 in Marseille).

In July of this year, the Boks defeated Wales by a score of 2-1.

The players of Jacques Nienaber will not, however, underestimate the Dragons prior to the global championship.

Prior to a 23-18 victory in Cardiff in 2021 and a 19-16 victory in the World Cup quarterfinals in Yokohama in 2019, South Africa had lost four consecutive games vs the Welsh between 2016 and 2018.

End of October will see the Boks convene for their end-of-year trip.
