South African Weather Service predicts Tuesday night will be the coldest in Gauteng this year

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) predicts that Tuesday night in various sections of Gauteng will be the coldest so far this year.

Temperatures in Vereeniging are anticipated to drop to minus two degrees and barely over freezing in Johannesburg.

Lulama Phele, a weather forecaster, predicts that the temperature will only rise during the day on Wednesday.

“We’re anticipating a significant reduction in minimum temperatures,” says the forecaster.

Especially over the interior areas. [In] Vereeniging we are expecting a minimum of minus 2 degrees. Standerton, Bloemfontein, Bethlehem -2 and Sutherland -1. All the internal areas are going to be very cold.”
