The former Isidingo star had been admitted to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, where he reportedly struggled to breathe and had to be assisted with oxygen.
A source from the hospital mentioned how staff and fellow patients immediately recognized him, describing the scene as heartbreaking.
Another colleague, who had worked closely with Michaels in the past, revealed that the actor had reached out for assistance weeks earlier, expressing concerns about his health and the lack of recent acting opportunities.
