Lovey Dovey TV host Somizi Mhlongo says he officially started filming for season 18 of Idols SA while Unathi Nkayi and Randall Abrahams were judges on the show.
Mhlongo was suspended from the show after his estranged husband, Mohale Motaung accused him of physical abuse.
He tells True Love Magazine that he finds it strange when people ask him when he’s returning to TV because he’s never really left television.

“I find it weird when people say I’m about to be back on TV.”
“I started working on Lovey Dovey immediately after Idols SA so I’ve never left television.”

Somizi adds that he didn’t miss much about being on Idols SA but rather used the time off to introspect so he can do things differently.

“My spirituality has really gone a notch higher.”
“It has allowed me to see things differently, do things differently and respond to things differently.”

He also bagged a TV hosting gig on Moja Love’s new reality dating show, Lovey Dovey, which will premiere this Valentines month (February)

The Moja Love show – Lovey Dovey is a show about finding love and eventually getting married.
There’s 25 singles in one house and they get to connect and interact up until they find what they think is the right connection.

“Then they have to get married, whichever couple gets selected to win will then get married and live happily ever after.”
“Plus they win half a million rands,” he says.

He is also shooting season 5 of his reality show, Living the dream, and also working on a cooking show.
Mhlongo is also opening three pop-up restaurants in three provinces as of this month (February).

“So there’s really a lot my friends can expect from me. The list is endless.”
