Chiefs have kept searching far and wide for a new striker since the end of the previous campaign in the hopes that he can end their championship drought.

Samir Nurkovic, Lazalous Kambole, and Leonardo Castro were released by Amakhosi, who only signed forward Ashley Du Preez after considering Wayde Lekay, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, and Musa Kamara, who were reportedly “on trial” in the team camp.

Lekay is no longer in Chiefs’ plans because they are searching for a true striker, but rumours claim that Bimenyimana has impressed the club management greatly.

Another intriguing development is that Soccer Laduma is now reporting that striker Darren Smith, who has previously played for SuperSport United, HIK Honka, and Ekenas IF, may be joining Chiefs for an evaluation period.

Smith, who recently parted ways with Moroccan team AS FAR, is a free agent and may be looking to start over at Chiefs.

There, he will be hoping to impress and rekindle the form that once made him a former Finnish Ykkonen Player of the Season and Golden Boot winner.

In regards to their next significant signing, Arthur Zwane has now provided further information about what they are specifically searching for.

“We’re looking for a strong, ball-holding striker. a striker who can support the other strikers.

The ones we have operate quickly. We therefore need a person who can hold the ball while feeding the others. Informed Ukhozi FM, Zwane.

He stated, “We are still looking through the Cosafa games (video clips) and we will revisit the Chan matches.”

There is no need to hurry because doing so will result in the wrong players being signed.

Given that Bimenyimana is a towering 1,94 metres tall, it makes sense that he might be considered the ideal candidate for a “physical striker.”

According to reports, Bimenyimana will stay with the Chiefs while they consider their options for permanently signing him.

Insider sources have reportedly told KickOff.com that the club has really started talks with Bimenyimana’s representatives in the aim of coming to an agreement.

The skilled striker, who has previously played in Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Rwanda, reportedly had a fruitful meeting on Saturday afternoon, and a respectable deal appears to be in the works.
