Siyethemba Sithebe Opens Up About His Exit from Kaizer Chiefs Following Two Seasons at Naturena and Shares Insights on Future Plans in Richards Bay

Siyethemba Sithebe, a former midfielder for Kaizer Chiefs, has recently opened up about his time with the club after parting ways with them.

The 31-year-old athlete spent two seasons at Naturena but couldn’t quite match the impressive performance he showcased during his tenure at AmaZulu.

Following the decision not to renew his contract, Sithebe was released from the club in June.

A Conversation with the Sporting Director

In an interview with FARPost, Sithebe shared insights from his discussions with Kaizer Chiefs’ Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.

After the last game of the season, Sithebe recounted that Motaung told the team to head home and assured them they would reconvene for pre-season talks.

“At that time, they were still busy looking for a new coach, and there was a lot going on,” he said.

He explained that the club was waiting to finalize everything with the new coaching staff before making any decisions about the players.

Understanding His Departure

When asked about the reasons behind his exit, Sithebe elaborated that the club’s management was caught between wanting to evaluate the incoming coach’s preferences and his own contract status.

“The sporting director mentioned that the new coach would come in with his own players, which is why they couldn’t renew my contract at that time,” he revealed.

Essentially, the decision hinged on the coach’s vision for the team, which left Sithebe in limbo about his future with the club.

A Brief Stint with the Glamour Boys

During his time at Kaizer Chiefs, Sithebe made a total of 39 appearances across various competitions.

He saw more game time under coach Arthur Zwane but faced challenges in making a significant impact.

Last season, he only managed to appear in 11 matches for the Glamour Boys, highlighting the struggles he faced on the pitch.

What’s Next for Sithebe?

Now with Richards Bay, Sithebe is looking forward to a new chapter in his career.

As he reflects on his experiences with Kaizer Chiefs, fans and supporters are eager to see how he will adapt and thrive in his new environment.
