A small community is reeling after a tragic incident that has left a 13-year-old girl fighting for her life.
In the early hours of this morning, she was discovered severely injured near the A63 road on the outskirts of Hull, following what reports indicate was a brutal stabbing.
The attack has led to the arrest of six teenagers, all now facing serious charges.
Scene of the Attack
At approximately 6:50 AM, concerned members of the public found the young girl and rushed to assist her, providing first aid until emergency services could arrive.
When police arrived, they discovered she had suffered multiple stab wounds to her neck, chest, abdomen, and back.
Humberside Police confirmed that she was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment of her life-threatening injuries.
Arrests Made
As investigators combed through the area for evidence, they located six teenagers hiding in a nearby wooded area.
Among them were four boys aged 14, 15, 16, and 17, along with two girls aged 14 and 15.
All six were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are currently in custody as police continue their inquiries.
Ongoing Investigation
Detective Superintendent Simon Vickers, who is overseeing the investigation, confirmed that the victim remains in critical condition.
He expressed his understanding of the community’s fears, assuring residents that police have six individuals in custody and are actively questioning them.
He noted that investigators believe the attackers may have had prior knowledge of the victim and emphasized that efforts are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

As the girl continues to fight for her life in the hospital, her family is receiving support from officers during this incredibly difficult time.
The area close to the Humber Bridge, where the incident occurred, has been sealed off by police as they gather further evidence.
Det Supt Vickers has called upon the public for any information that could assist the investigation, particularly asking for dashcam or CCTV footage from around the time of the attack.
