Sharon Osbourne has broken her silence following the death of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, hitting back at Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters after his critical remarks about the Black Sabbath legend.
Ozzy, who passed away on July 22 at his Buckinghamshire home aged 76 from heart failure, had only recently completed a farewell tour with his bandmates.
While the world mourned, Waters stirred controversy by openly admitting he was never a fan of Ozzy or his band.
Roger Waters Sparks Outrage
In an interview with The Independent Ink, Waters, now 82, dismissed Ozzy’s music entirely.
“We’ll never know. The music, I have no idea.
I couldn’t give a f***,” he said, later adding, “I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did.
Have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do.”
His remarks drew immediate backlash from the Osbourne family and fans alike, many finding his comments insensitive and disrespectful to a grieving family.
Sharon Hits Back on Piers Morgan Uncensored
Speaking to Piers Morgan in her first TV interview since Ozzy’s death, Sharon didn’t hold back.
She described Waters as “nuts” and dismissed his opinions outright.
“You know, he was great, but his greatness didn’t last.
He couldn’t do any great music on his own,” she said.
“He’s a has-been… Five wives later, hates everybody that’s successful, and stomps around in his pathetic, homemade Nazi outfit. He’s insignificant.”
Sharon made it clear that even a small gesture of civility, like sending a Tiffany box, felt pointless given Waters’ behaviour.
“With anybody that passes who has a family, you don’t do that,” she added.
Waters’ Controversial History
Roger Waters has long courted controversy.
At a Berlin show last May, he performed in a Nazi outfit and reportedly sang an improvised song referring to his agent in a derogatory way.
Waters defended his actions, saying they were meant as statements against fascism and injustice.
“My recent performance in Berlin has attracted bad faith attacks from those who want to smear and silence me because they disagree with my political views,” he said in a statement, adding that depicting “an unhinged fascist demagogue” has been a feature of his shows since Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ in 1980.
Despite his explanations, the remarks added to a string of controversies, including inflammatory comments about Israel, leading German music rights firm BMG to part ways with him in 2023.
Jack Osbourne Weighs In
Ozzy and Sharon’s son, Jack Osbourne, also took to social media to express his anger.
On Instagram, he branded Waters a “c**t” and slammed his recent actions as attention-seeking.
“Hey @rogerwaters. F*** you. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become,” he wrote, adding, “My father always thought you were a ct—thanks for proving him right.”
He followed up with the hashtag #f*rogerwaters, making his feelings unmistakably clear.
