Russell Brand’s Wife Removes Social Media Amidst Allegations
Russell Brand’s wife, Laura Brand, has taken a significant step by deleting her social media account just hours before he faced allegations of rape, sexual assault, and abuse from four women.
Russell, the comedian, strongly denies all these accusations, labeling them as “aggressive attacks.” In a video statement released on the evening of Friday, September 15, he disclosed that he had received two disturbing letters from a “mainstream media TV company” and a newspaper.
Laura Brand’s Social Media Deactivation
In response to Russell’s vehement denial of the allegations, Laura, who is an author and married Russell in 2017, deactivated her Instagram account, known as @thejoyjournal, which she used to share her work with her followers.
Despite the account’s inactivity, her recent posts are still accessible through Google search, revealing Laura’s promotion of her book, “The Joy Journal.”
Allegations and Denial
On Saturday, September 16, The Times published claims that Russell had allegedly committed rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse against four women.
These allegations are said to have occurred between 2006 and 2013, a period when Russell was at the pinnacle of his fame.
However, in his video statement titled “So, This Is Happening,” Russell Brand vehemently rejected these allegations.
He acknowledged his past promiscuity, stating that his relationships during that time were always consensual and transparent.
He expressed deep concern about these allegations evolving into something criminal and questioned if there might be ulterior motives at play.
Questions About Coordinated Attacks
Russell also raised questions about the coordination he perceived among mainstream media outlets in their coverage of the allegations.
He hinted at the existence of witnesses whose testimonies contradicted the narratives presented by these outlets, further fueling his doubts about the motives behind the allegations.
Despite his reluctance to delve further into the matter due to its seriousness, he felt targeted and suggested a close collaboration between the media outlets involved in reporting the allegations.
