Ron DiAngelo Calls Out Matt Walsh’s Film for Embarrassing Reparations Prank in ‘Am I Racist?’ During Filming in Washington D.C.

It seems that Ron DiAngelo, the author behind White Fragility, has finally broken her silence after being the target of an elaborate prank for Matt Walsh’s latest movie.

The prank, aimed at exposing the perceived absurdities of anti-racism activism, involved DiAngelo in a series of misleading scenarios.

The Setup

In a recent blog post, DiAngelo revealed how she was duped into participating in a scene from Walsh’s film, Am I Racist?.

The film, which mocks the white left’s focus on anti-racism, led her into an uncomfortable situation where she was tricked into paying reparations to Walsh’s black producer.

DiAngelo expressed her frustration, describing the film as a ‘Borat-style mockumentary’ and noting that something felt off when Walsh approached her wearing an ‘ill-fitting wig.’

Regret and Reflection

DiAngelo, who was initially paid $15,000 for her involvement, has since donated that sum to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

She admitted in her blog that she felt misled after the fact.

DiAngelo recounted being approached in 2023 by a group claiming to make a documentary titled “Shades of Justice” about combating racism in the U.S.

She was offered between $10,000 and $20,000 for an interview, and after negotiating to $15,000, she agreed to participate.

The Prank Unfolds

The prank took a turn when Walsh insisted that if DiAngelo supported reparations for Black Americans, she should hand over cash to his producer on the spot.

DiAngelo, initially skeptical about the gesture, eventually complied and handed $30 from her purse.

Despite her discomfort, she made sure to check in with the producer, Ben, who reassured her before accepting the money.

The Fallout

DiAngelo’s experience left her feeling ‘unsettled.’

She requested that the controversial scene be excluded from the film, arguing that it misrepresented the concept of reparations.

The segment, which shows Walsh guiding DiAngelo through a series of increasingly ridiculous scenarios, is reportedly nine minutes long.

Walsh’s Response

Matt Walsh responded on X, expressing his gratitude to DiAngelo for her candid assessment of the film.

He thanked her for acknowledging the film’s intent to challenge and critique anti-racist educators and activists.

What’s Next?

Am I Racist?, produced by The Daily Wire, is set for a theatrical release on Friday, September 13.

The film critiques the expansive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) industry that gained prominence following the tragic death of George Floyd in 2020.

The next steps for both Walsh and DiAngelo will be closely watched as the film hits theaters.
