Roger De Sa Believes Tashreeq Morris Can Thrive at Kaizer Chiefs Despite Early Skepticism Over His Goal Scoring Abilities in South Africa

Roger De Sa’s Thoughts on Tashreeq Morris at Kaizer Chiefs

Former Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa has shared his thoughts on Tashreeq Morris, the new Kaizer Chiefs striker, and why he believes the 30-year-old has what it takes to succeed at the club.

Morris, who joined Chiefs from SuperSport United a couple of weeks ago, has faced some skepticism due to his modest two-goal tally this season.

Chiefs fans are understandably cautious, especially given the team’s struggles with finding consistent goals up front.

However, De Sa remains optimistic about Morris’ potential to make a difference at Amakhosi.

A Glimpse into Morris’ Strengths

De Sa, who coached Morris during his time at Ajax Cape Town, explained that he saw the striker’s potential early on.

“He became a regular in the first team at a very young age,” De Sa told FARPost. “We played him as a number nine, but his speed and aggression allowed him to play on the wing when needed.

He always had a knack for getting into the box.”

De Sa praised Morris’ physicality and work ethic, describing him as a strong and honest player who is always committed to his game.

“He’s a big, strong player, physically very good, and he works extremely hard,” De Sa added.

“While he might not have the best technical skills, he compensates for that with his relentless effort and dedication.”

What Lies Ahead for Morris at Chiefs

At Kaizer Chiefs, coach Nasreddine Nabi has two strong strikers in Morris and Ranga Chivaviro.

While it’s unlikely that they will start together regularly, with Chivaviro sometimes being benched, Morris is expected to feature more prominently in upcoming matches.

De Sa believes that with the right support from Nabi, Morris can find success at Chiefs, much like he did under Gavin Hunt during a brief stint at the club.

The question remains, though: Can Morris live up to the expectations and help solve Chiefs’ goal-scoring issues? Only time will tell.
