Road users are cautioned to expect prolonged traffic congestion and major delays on the N3 road

On the N3, traffic congestion is expected to persist and cause major delays in the southbound direction.

Beyond the Nottingham Road interchange, there is currently a backlog of traffic.

This is the outcome of a collision and chemical leak that occurred last night close to the Peter Brown Interchange in Pietermaritzburg.

Operations for cleanup and recovery are still going on there.

Up till the site has been cleaned up, traffic jams and delays are anticipated.

Drivers are urged to postpone their trip to the area.
