Retno Marsudi and G.N.M. Pandor applaud the USD 2.8 billion rise in bilateral trade from USD 1.3 billion in 2020

Retno Marsudi, the foreign affairs minister of Indonesia, and G.N.M. Pandor, the foreign affairs minister of South Africa, who was in Bali to attend the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on July 7-8, 2022, had a bilateral meeting on July 7, 2022.

The two Ministers applauded the USD 2.8 billion rise in bilateral trade from USD 1.3 billion in 2020, or a 115 percent increase.

The two nations decided to boost their bilateral trade even more.

The conclusion of the discussion of the MoU on cooperation in the military and fishing industries, which will soon be signed, was also praised by both Ministers.

The two Ministers also decided to step up their collaboration in the medical field.

The Ministers of Indonesia and South Africa concurred that, in the context of multilateral cooperation, developing nations’ voices should be heard more on a variety of global concerns, which can be accomplished, among other things, through the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) platform.

The African Union and delegates from poor nations were invited to several G20 meetings, and the South African Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed her gratitude to Indonesia for being the G20 President who supports these nations.
