Reps task Nigerian government over prolonged power outages

The Nigerian government has been urged to diversify the Nation’s sources of power generation to address the incessant power outages in the country.

This was contained in a motion under matters of urgent National Importance sponsored by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatiives, Tahir Munguno at plenary.

The lawmaker explained that adequate power supply remains the backbone of every nation’s socioeconomic development.

Monguno described the incessant power outages in the country despite the increase in electricity tariff as a national embarrassment.

Adopting the motion, the House urged the Executive Arm of Government, to upgrade the nation’s power generation by seeking  sources of power generation such as coal, wind and Solar.
