If you’re a young changemaker working on solutions for clean water, sanitation, or hygiene, Reckitt wants to hear from you.
The global health and hygiene company is continuing its mission to support sustainable water access by backing the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG6 once again in 2025 — and this time, the focus is bigger and bolder than ever.
Since 2019, Reckitt has supported 11 social entrepreneurs through this initiative, and now they’re looking to scale up that impact by investing in ideas that bring measurable, real-world change — especially those that support children and women or girls.
What This Year’s Challenge Is All About
This isn’t just about building toilets or handing out soap. Reckitt is aiming higher — they’re looking for solutions that not only provide access to basic water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services but also help create sustainable systems that last.
The goal is to empower communities with the tools and knowledge to maintain healthy hygiene practices and clean water access over the long term.
While all kinds of WASH-related projects are welcome, Reckitt is especially interested in innovations that:
-
Use digital tech or AI to expand access to water, sanitation, and hygiene on a large scale
-
Promote proper handwashing habits and help prevent waterborne diseases
-
Help improve water use and recycling within Reckitt’s own supply chain, supporting their water-positive goals
Who Can Apply? Here’s What They’re Looking For
Reckitt is calling on young innovators — and there are some clear eligibility boxes you’ll need to check if you’re thinking of applying:
-
Your project must directly align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 6 (clean water and sanitation)
-
You need to be between 18 and 30 years old
-
Your solution should be either already available, being tested, or in the process of scaling
-
You’ll need to show that your project has real, measurable social impact — whether that’s in public health, education, or job creation
-
You should have a realistic plan for implementation, including clear outcomes and defined beneficiaries
-
The solution should show potential to grow — either by expanding in size, scope, or geographic reach
-
Ideally, the project should also have a plan for long-term financial sustainability
What’s in It for the Winner?
If your idea is selected, you won’t just get funding — you’ll also get a serious boost in exposure and support. The winning solution will receive:
-
$50,000 in funding from Reckitt to help bring your vision to life
-
A sponsored spot at the One Young World Summit 2025, where global youth leaders gather to share ideas and drive change
-
12 months of tailored mentorship from Reckitt professionals, offering hands-on support to help accelerate your impact based on your organization’s needs
