…By Joseph Benjamin for TDPel Media. Prince Harry flew from California to London for his father’s coronation but returned to the US shortly after the ceremony.
The Duke of Sussex landed in the UK on Friday morning and was first seen on camera entering Westminster Abbey on Saturday at around 10 am.
He attended the coronation, but not the balcony procession, and left for Heathrow airport shortly after.
He caught a 3.45 pm flight to Los Angeles, where he arrived at 6.30 pm local time.
Harry spent just 28 hours and roughly 42 minutes in the UK in total.
According to a source, Harry was determined to be back in time to spend part of his son Archie’s birthday at home.
Meghan Markle held the beginning of the low-key birthday celebrations for Archie at their £11 million mansion in California. Oprah Winfrey, who famously interviewed the couple after they moved stateside, was “likely” among the guest list, the source said.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been embroiled in controversy surrounding their departure from the Royal Family, with Harry’s recent comments and interviews sparking criticism from some quarters.
Harry’s attendance at his father’s coronation was therefore noteworthy, and he was invited along with Meghan by King Charles III.
The event raises questions about the ongoing tensions between Harry and the Royal Family, and how they will manage their relationship going forward.
It also highlights the challenges of being a high-profile public figure and balancing personal and professional obligations.
The media attention surrounding the event and Harry’s quick return to the US underscores the intense scrutiny and pressure faced by members of the Royal Family.
