Mama Rachel Njeri Nyoro died on Friday evening while undergoing treatment at a Kiambu hospital, and President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended a message of grief and support to her family, relatives, and friends.
Kiambu Governor James Nyoro’s mother, Mama Rachel Njeri, died at the age of 88.
Mama Rachel Njeri was a progressive woman who supported agriculture activities among women in her neighborhood, according to President Kenyatta’s condolence statement.
“Mama Rachel was a hard working and dedicated person.
We will always cherish the role she played as one of the pioneers of dairy farming who greatly inspired others to follow in her footsteps,” mourned the President.
The President said Mama Njeri will be remembered as a courageous, brave and selfless leader who endeared herself to many through her generosity and love.
“A strong believer in Christ Jesus, Mama Rachel loved all people irrespective of their backgrounds.
As a devoted member of the PCEA church, she actively participated in spreading the word of God in her capacity as one of the leading member of the women’s guild,” President Kenyatta said.
The President wished the Nyoro’s family God’s comfort and fortitude as they come to terms with the passing away of their family matriarch, saying Mama Rachel Njeri was a woman of great faith who raised a gracious family that has continued to serve this nation in various capacities.
“We will forever cherish her good deeds and wonderful service to our great nation over the years.
We also appreciate her for raising a strong family that continues to contribute to the development of our country.
“I pray that the Almighty God will comfort and grant each one of her family members the strength and fortitude during this difficult period of mourning,” President Kenyatta comforted the family of Mama Rachel Njeri Nyoro.
