Pregnant Toowoomba cult member refused medical help

A pregnant woman convicted of participating in the murder of an eight-year-old diabetic girl is refusing medical treatment in prison.

Samantha Emily Crouch, who is incarcerated at the Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre in Wacol, has denied access to medical personnel.

Last January in Toowoomba, she was charged with the murder of Elizabeth Struhs after she and 13 others allegedly deprived the youngster of insulin.

Concerned about the health of the alleged murderer’s pregnant child, prison staff are frustrated by her refusal to take assistance.

Samantha Emily Crouch has refused to allow Queensland medical personnel to approach her, infuriating staff members concerned for the wellbeing of her pregnant child.

The religious group known as “the Saints” allegedly prayed over Elizabeth (pictured), who had type-1 diabetes, in an effort for God to “cure” her or revive her from the dead.

According to the Courier-Mail, Crouch has threatened to give birth without informing anyone.

‘[Authorities] also do not know how far advanced it is. An officer must observe her throughout the night on overtime, according to an insider.

Police have said that Crouch is a member of a religious group that rejects medical intervention.

The fanatical sect calls themselves “the Saints” and supposedly considers itself to be the pinnacle of Christianity.

In January, members of the organization prayed over Elizabeth, who had type-1 diabetes, in an effort to allow God to “cure” or resurrect her.

Instead of administering Elizabeth’s life-saving medication, it is said that her parents Jason, 50, and Kerrie, 46, together with up to 20 members of their breakaway Christian church encircled her and chanted prayers and hymns.

The girl allegedly died five days later, on January 7, after the insulin was removed from her on January 2.

The paramedics were not told of the death until the following day, apparently because the group did not want to keep the body in the house.

The parents were charged with murder, torture, and neglecting to provide the child with the basics of life; fourteen members of the group are currently in detention.

The group consists of eight ladies and six men, with the oldest woman being 64 years old and the youngest man being 19 years old.

Elizabeth Rose Struhs, age 8, was discovered dead in her Toowoomba, Queensland, home after her parents allegedly stopped administering her type 1 diabetes medicine.
