A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Dr.

Goodwill Richman has urged politicians to embrace the spirit of unity and progress and eschew any act capable of dividing the nation in all their dealings.

Dr.

Richman who stated this at a press briefing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital  to declared his intention to contest for the governorship seat in Akwa- Ibom state, Southern Nigeria noted that politicians should see political positions as opportunity  to contribute in the nation building rather than see it as an opportunity to enrich themselves.

“My aspiration to occupy the governorship seat of Akwa Ibom is born out of my desire to reposition the fortune of the state, based on my wealth of experience and love for the people of the state,” he said.

Leader With Wisdom
He remarked that the state has enormous mineral resources ready to be harnessed but requires a leader with wisdom to achieve it.

He said that was the inspiration that informed his decision to contest for the position of Governor.

“By the time I take over, I will build Cement Factories, modern high sea fishing systems, sea food processing industry, engage in Youth empowerment programmes, attract foreign investors and embark on solid mineral development in the three senatorial zones of the state,” he said.

The PDP chieftain noted that his administration if voted into power will base on people’s oriented programmes that will allow everybody to benefit irrespective of party affiliation.

“I have consulted my people and they gave me the go ahead, the  moment I  win the PDP ticket to stand for elections  in 2023,  I will  bring all those that left the party back to the PDP family,” he said.

Dr.

Richman appealed for support from the people for him to actualise his aspirations of turning Akwa- Ibom state into the commercial hub of Africa just as Dubai is to the rest of the world.

He promised to give equal representation to women and youth when voted into office.
