Authorities are urgently searching for Raya Dillon-Jackson, a 15-year-old girl who vanished from her home in Croxton Kerrial, Leicestershire, nearly three weeks ago.

The teenager, described as black with long wavy hair, was last spotted on Sunday, March 31, wearing a white Nike t-shirt and black Nike sweatpants, adorned with false eyelashes.

Notably, she was accompanied by her pet sugar glider, a small marsupial, when she was last seen. The alarm was raised the following day after her disappearance was reported to Leicestershire Police.

Possible Movement Beyond Leicestershire:

Authorities suspect that Raya may have left Leicestershire and could be traveling elsewhere in the UK. Based on their investigations, they have identified potential connections to Birmingham and various areas in London, including Wanstead, Peckham, Brixton, and Holborn.

Concerned citizens with any information regarding Raya’s whereabouts are urged to contact the police immediately, referencing incident number 219 of April 1.

Description of Sugar Gliders:

Sugar gliders, small marsupials native to Australia and Tasmania, resemble flying squirrels but are biologically closer to kangaroos. These creatures, often kept as pets in the UK without requiring a license, possess soft, thick fur, and a distinctive long tail. Known for their social nature, sugar gliders typically form packs in the wild, ranging from 20 to 40 individuals, and can quickly develop strong bonds with their owners.

Unique Traits and Characteristics:

Highly intelligent, sugar gliders possess opposable thumbs and fingers akin to humans, facilitating their adeptness at gripping objects and climbing with ease. Their name derives from a specialized flap connecting their front and hind legs, enabling them to glide through the air. In terms of housing, experts recommend a mesh cage, with gaps no larger than half an inch, measuring at least 24′ x 24′ and 36′ high, to accommodate their need for ample space for jumping and climbing.

In summary, the disappearance of Raya Dillon-Jackson has prompted a widespread search effort, with authorities appealing to the public for any information that might aid in locating her. Additionally, her connection with her pet sugar glider adds a unique dimension to the search, highlighting the bond between owner and pet and raising awareness about the care and characteristics of these fascinating marsupials.
