Police have arrested the suspect in a Monday evening shooting in North Seattle that left one person dead.

At 8:15pm, police responded to the 14300 block of Midvale Avenue North for reports that someone was shooting a gun out the window of a residence. Police began communicating with the suspect, but he refused to exit the residence. Eventually, police successfully negotiated with the man and he surrendered without incident.

After taking the suspect into custody, officers checked the home and found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the scene and declared the man deceased.
