Pochettino Confident Jackson Can Be A Top Striker In The Premier League

The 22-year-old sealed the first victory under Pochettino by converting Raheem Sterling’s cross in the 75th minute.

Pochettino was all love for Chelsea’s no. 9 at Stamford Bridge after picking up his first victory as Chelsea manager.

He declared: “We were aware of Nicolas Jackson’s quality before signing him.

We don’t ask him to rush after the ball and press it; instead, he recovers it well and has good finishing ability.

It’s only a matter of time before he starts to demonstrate it more as he gets used to the Premier League.

Nicolas Jackson is very good.

He can easily rank among the Premier League’s top strikers, in my opinion.

After moving past multiple Luton defenders and scoring the first goal with a placed finish, Sterling was named the player of the game.

He added a second by converting Malo Gusto’s cross before being replaced in extra time and receiving a standing ovation.

The England international, who struggled last season, has been improved by Pochettino, who also added: “I need to hope Raheem will be happy [about my answer].”

In our initial meeting with each player, including Raheem, I like to inquire about their favourite position to play, their feelings, and how they perceive themselves in the mirror.

“To find the best position for the dynamic of the game we are playing in an offensive situation to try to provide the best platform and position and place and link to the player that can appear their best quality, it is not the position, it is the animation and how the team is going to link in between.

“That is why the process is crucial; working to build all these links and the manner that we want to play and interact with each other requires time.

“When you are in a team in the process that we are, it is a matter of time.”
