Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane is on the brink of making CAF Champions League history following his side’s 6-2 aggregate win over ES Setif on Saturday.
In fact, Manuel Jose reached four CAF Champions League finals with Al Ahly between 2005 and 2008 – but he won just one during that period, and that was in 2007.
HOW MOSIMANE CAN MAKE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HISTORY WITH AL AHLY
With Mosimane reaching his third consecutive CAF Champions League final, the Kagiso-born mentor is on the brink of becoming the only coach to lift the trophy three times in a row.
No coach in the history of the CAF Champions League has ever achieved what Mosimane is about to achieve with Al Ahly.
Should Mosimane win this year’s CAF Champions League final, it wouldn’t just be his third but his fourth overall after having won it with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016.
And one can expect Al Ahly to do all they can to lift the trophy, and that’s because Mosimane’s ultimate goal is to return to the FIFA World Cup and win it.
For two years running, Al Ahly, under Mosimane, picked up bronze medals as they finished as the third best club at the annual global club tournament.
