Orlando Pirates are R10 million richer even before stepping onto the pitch to play their CAF Confederation Cup final with RSB Berkane.
This year’s CAF Confed Cup final, which will be played over a single leg, will be played at Nigeria’s Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Friday, 20 May 2022.
The Soweto giants just about enough to reach the final on Sunday where they went down 1-0 to Al-Ahli Tropoli – Pirates won the tie 2-1 on aggregate.

By reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final, Orlando Pirates are guaranteed to get R10.1 million – that’s irrespective of whether they win or not.
Over a year ago, CAF increased their prize money for inter-club competitions, meaning the finalists for this year’s Confed Cup will get USD625 000 which amounts to R10.1 million.
And that’s more than double they got last season when they walked away with R4.9 million for bowing out of the competition in the quarter-finals.
Pirates could get just over R20 million if they beat RSB Berkane and lift the CAF Confederation Cup trophy.
