One person dead after car and truck collide in rural Hawke’s Bay

Police were called to the crash at the intersection of Taihape Rd and Kawera Rd, near Pukehamoamoa, just before 4pm on Tuesday.

One person died at the scene, a police statement said, while two other people have been transported to Hawke’s Bay hospital with serious injuries.

One other person was treated for minor injuries, a St John spokesperson said.

Police said the serious crash unit had been advised, and the road will be closed until at least 10.30 pm.

Diversions are in place on Ohiti Rd and Matapero Rd.
