The Ogun state governmwnt has reassured market men and women of continued support towards empowering them to contribute their quota to the socio- economic development of the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun gave the assurance on Thursday at the inauguration of the Iyaloja-General of the state, Chief Yemisi Abass and other executives of the market women and men association (MAWOMAS) held in Ilaro.
Represented by his Deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Governor acknowledged the roles of market men and women to the progress of the gateway state, assuring them of making trading easier in markets across the state.
In a remark,the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development,Honourable Funmi Efuwape said government will continue to throw its weight behind the association, just as she urged the market men and women to support the initiatives of the govt in boosting the state economy.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Industry,Trade and Investments, Mrs Kikelomo Longe, represented by the Deputy Director,Commerce, Mr Adekola Osuntade said the current administration will continue to sustain the existing business-friendly environment in the state,adding thet various platforms are being provided for market men and women to enhance their trade.
