The development of the renovation and improvement of Eyin-Eyo Park in Idumota, Lagos Island, has been inspected by representatives of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

The project was started to restore aesthetics and update the infrastructure of the former National Arcade for Soldiers, now known as the Adamu Orisa Eyo Monument, according to Mr. Olatunde Lawal, who spoke at the site and also serves as the head of the ministry’s museum and monuments department.

He said that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had given his approval for the makeover in order to increase the area’s appeal to tourists, visitors, and Lagos residents.

Lawal said: “The Eyo Statue, the Cultural and Historical Symbol of the people and the State, erected within the Park was restored. The Eyo Statue restoration will reposition the Park to its former glory”.

In a similar vein, Engr. Oluwadurotimi Sadiku, a member of the project team, told the inspection party that the Park is now an excellent location for social gatherings and leisure activities, emphasising that the Project is around 97 percent finished and would be shortly commissioned by Mr. Governor.
