Obiano Felicitates With Anambra Govt House Chaplain Rev. Fr. Okafor On Silver Jubilee Priestly Ordination

Anambra State Governor, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano has felicitated with the Government House Chaplain, Reverend Father Patrick Okafor, on the celebration of his twenty-five years as a Catholic priest.

 

At a Eucharistic celebration at St Matthew’s Catholic Parish Amawbia for the celebration, Governor Obiano eulogized Reverend Father Okafor for being dutiful and committed to his call, describing him as a humble man.

Governor Obiano stated that there is adequate security in Anambra State despite pockets of violence, calling on people especially youths to come out to vote, wait and make sure that all votes count, as according to him, pooling booths are always a trekkable distance from homes.

 

He added that APGA is presenting a renowned Professor of Economics, who is the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and Special Adviser to President Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo to succeed him, asking Ndi Anambra to thumbprint in the box opposite the picture of a cock on the ballot paper on the election day.

In his remark, Reverend Father Okafor, who appreciated the love and support extended to him, asked the congregation to come out and vote according to their conscience; as a way of helping to salvage the State.

 

He thanked everyone, especially the Governor for contributing in many ways to aid his calling, asking God to help him finish well.

 

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that in attendance at the ceremony were the member representing Anambra East Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Pharmacist Obinna Emenaka, his Njikoka Constituency One counterpart, Sir Pete Ibida, Transition Committee Chairman for Awka South, Mr. Leo Nwuba, Commissioners for Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, Public Utilities, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne and Transport, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, among others.
