NITDA partners with JICA to launch second IgniteHER bootcamp empowering women entrepreneurs across Nigeria

If you’re a woman in Nigeria with a big idea—or you’re already running a startup and dreaming bigger—here’s some exciting news that might just change everything.

The IgniteHER Entrepreneurship Bootcamp is back for its second round, and this time it’s promising even more impact, inspiration, and international opportunities.

Organized by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), this bootcamp is tailored to help Nigerian women thrive in the world of tech and business.

Pushing for Gender Inclusion in Digital Innovation

This initiative isn’t just another workshop—it’s part of a much broader vision.

NITDA has been actively championing the National Gender Digital Inclusion Strategy (NGDIS), aiming to close the gender gap when it comes to access to digital tools, funding, mentorship, and market reach.

“IgniteHER is about giving Nigerian women the resources they need to succeed,” NITDA shared.

“From business development to hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence, the goal is to equip women with practical and future-forward skills.”

When and How It’s Happening

The bootcamp kicks off on July 22 and runs through August 1, 2025, taking place every Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

It’s a hybrid experience—meaning some sessions will be held online, while others will be conducted in person at the JICA Nigeria office in Abuja.

There are eight engaging sessions planned, each designed to not just teach but to empower.

What Participants Will Take Away

This isn’t just about sitting through lectures. The IgniteHER Bootcamp is built to give participants:

  • Stronger business planning skills

  • Improved financial literacy and investment readiness

  • Hands-on exposure to AI tools and tech solutions

  • Networking and mentorship with other women in tech who are innovating and scaling across Nigeria

It’s not just about growing a business—it’s about becoming part of a movement.

A Trip to Japan for Top Performers

As if the learning and networking weren’t enough, there’s also a major reward on the line.

NITDA has confirmed that outstanding participants will be chosen for a study trip to Japan, where they’ll attend a startup event and connect with the global innovation scene.

It’s the kind of opportunity that could open doors far beyond Nigeria.

Who Should Apply and How to Get In

Applications are already open—from June 25 to July 6—and if you’re a female founder, co-founder of a startup, registered MSME owner, or even someone with a well-developed business idea, this could be your shot.

If you’re ready to take your business idea to the next level—or turn your small startup into a serious player—this bootcamp could be your launchpad.
