The Nigerian Navy Ship BEECROFT patrol team intercepted 11 stowaways hiding on a ship bound for Ghana on Tuesday evening.
The stowaways, aged between 19 and 37, were discovered after the Navy received a tip-off from four stowaways who had been apprehended earlier.
The stowaways were unaware that the ship they had boarded was heading to Ghana. They have been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for further investigation.
