The 28-year-old, who married Princess Raiyah bint Hussein in July 2020 and is the grandson of author Roald Dahl, was seen in his Metropolitam Police uniform protecting the throng near Buckingham Palace.

His role in the four-day event’s security was only revealed until a royal enthusiast persuaded him to pose for a photo with two corgis named Chuckles and Bunting.

‘Paws and Order, popping over to say a big thank you to our amazing Met police on a busy morning at The Mall,’ the owner captioned the photo on Instagram.

Mr Donovan, a former Mail on Sunday reporter, started working as a Special Constable last year at the same time as Sir Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster.

He travels to Britain from Jordan on a regular basis to do his responsibilities in London, and this weekend he tweeted a photo of mounted cavalry with the caption: ‘Lovely to entirely by chance come into the Household Cavalry on my stroll back from lunch.’
