During the live coverage of Donald Trump’s inauguration, a conversation between musician Kid Rock and BBC reporter Caitriona Perry took an awkward turn.

The moment quickly became memorable when Kid Rock, known for his controversial support of Trump, flirted with Perry, telling her she “sounds sexy.”

While speaking with Perry, who was reporting from Washington as the BBC’s chief presenter, Kid Rock, 54, couldn’t resist making a cheeky comment.

At the time, Perry, 44, was asking him about his plans for the inauguration day.

The two exchanged casual remarks, but when Perry commented on her skiing outfit, Kid Rock responded in a surprising way.

Perry, ready for the elements in full ski gear, laughed and mentioned she was set to “rock” the slopes.

In return, Kid Rock, smoking a cigar, quipped, “You sound sexy. You wanna go with me?”

This unexpected comment left Perry stuttering, trying to find the right words.

Eventually, she politely dismissed the flirtation by saying, “Well, we won’t get into that right here. We’ve got a day of broadcasting to do.”

British activist and Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox also attended the event in his own way.

Instead of heading to the convention center, Fox watched the inauguration live in Kid Rock’s hotel room, posting his experience on social media.

He referred to the moment as “the greatest comeback in American history.”

Flirting Isn’t New for Caitriona Perry

Kid Rock wasn’t the first to flirt with Perry during a live broadcast.

In 2017, during Trump’s first year as president, he made an unexpected comment towards her while interviewing Leo Varadkar.

Noticing Perry, Trump interrupted the conversation to point her out, saying, “We have all this beautiful Irish press, where are you from?”

When she approached him, Trump remarked on her smile, which she later described as “bizarre” in an interview with the Irish Independent.

Caitriona Perry’s Background

Caitriona Perry, an experienced journalist, is originally from Ireland and worked for RTE before joining the BBC.

She served as RTE’s Washington correspondent from 2013 to 2017, and later presented the Six One News from 2018 to 2023.
