Moment Brazilian nursing student was killed by her ‘ex-boyfriend’ in front of her father’s car

This is tragic moment a 19-year-old nursing student was shot dead by her ex-boyfriend as she was about to step into her father’s vehicle in front of the university in the southeastern state of São Paulo.

Surveillance videos showed the gunman running up to Juliana Fernandes from behind and firing at her on Thursday night.

Fernandes was struck in the back and the head.

Footage showed Fernandes lying beside the car as her killer fired several shots and then took off running.

Her 76-year-old father attempted to revive her, but paramedics declared her dead at the scene.

She was murdered in front of my father, she died there at my father’s feet without being able to do anything,’ the victim’s brother, Renan Fernandes, told news outlet G1. ‘My father had to see his daughter’s life taken for no reason.’

The Pindamonhanga Civil Police is investigating the shooting but had not arrested the suspect as of Friday.

Authorities have not released his name to the public.

Juliana Fernandez and her ex-boyfriend had recently broke up after dating for a year, Renan Fernandes told to UOL Noticias.

‘We knew him. They dated for about a year, but Juliana didn’t tell us that they had broken up,’ he said. ‘And we also don’t know if he ever made any threats to her.’

Juliana Fernandes was the youngest of three children and attended Tableau College.

‘Her dream was to work in nursing. She was excited and making several plans for her professional future,’ Renan Fernandes said.

‘Everything was interrupted.’
