Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Bavaria discuss cooperation in renewable energy

Sharif Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, discussed, with Roland Weigert, State Secretary in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, ways of boosting their cooperation in renewable energy, most notably hydrogen.
During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of renewable energy and hydrogen and presented their efforts to achieve tangible progress in these areas.
They also discussed ways of promoting dialogue on hydrogen projects, with an emphasis on future hydrogen trade, highlighting the importance of the UAE’s hosting of COP28 in Abu Dhabi in 2023 and ways of promoting joint action to hold the event.
Al Olama stressed the importance of such events to encouraging cooperation between the two sides, noting that it is part of the UAE’s efforts to establish close partnerships with Bavaria.
He also highlighted the UAE’s keenness to explore opportunities for cooperation in different types of energy, which is a national environmental priority.
The two sides have opportunities for exchanging expertise and experiences in renewable energy, most notably hydrogen.
