Mduduzi Mdantsane Reveals the Real Reasons Behind His Decision to Leave Kaizer Chiefs and Join Richards Bay for the Rest of the Season

Mduduzi Mdantsane Opens Up About His Move from Kaizer Chiefs to Richards Bay

Mduduzi Mdantsane has finally spoken about his decision to leave Kaizer Chiefs and join Richards Bay on loan.

After spending a significant amount of time sidelined, the midfielder has shared the reasons behind his move, opening up about the challenges he faced and his determination to come back stronger.

A Setback in His Career

At one point, Mdantsane was seen as a potential future Bafana Bafana star, with coach Hugo Broos even considering him as a replacement for Themba Zwane.

However, his career took an unexpected turn when a car accident during the off-season threw him off course.

Even after recovering, he struggled to find a place in coach Nasreddine Nabi’s squad.

In February, Kaizer Chiefs confirmed that Mdantsane had been loaned to Richards Bay for the remainder of the season, a decision that the midfielder embraced as a chance to turn things around.

The Pressure at Kaizer Chiefs

Mdantsane was candid about the tough situation he faced at Chiefs, especially with the immense pressure the club and its players are under.

Speaking on Ukhozi FM, he reflected on the realities of playing for a big team like Chiefs.

“Things don’t always go the way you expect them to.

I’m a professional, and I get it—there’s pressure.

I can give the fans everything I have, but when a team is under so much stress, it’s hard.

I just want to regain my form so that when I come back, I’ll be even stronger,” he shared.

He also highlighted the challenge of returning from a serious injury, including a broken jaw, and the lack of patience at Chiefs.

“The pressure at Chiefs is intense.

When you’ve been sidelined, there’s no grace period.

They want immediate results, regardless of where you’re coming from,” he added.

A New Beginning at Richards Bay

Mdantsane’s move to Richards Bay was about finding a fresh start and rebuilding his confidence.

He understood that, given Chiefs’ current struggles, it would be unrealistic for the team to take a risk by putting him in high-stakes games.

“I came from a tough situation at Chiefs.

They couldn’t afford to risk playing me under that kind of pressure.

It made sense for me to start fresh and improve my game, and that was the agreement,” he explained.

While Mdantsane expressed his gratitude to Chiefs for their support, he emphasized that his career and well-being had to come first, even if fans might have different opinions.

“The fans have their own views, but at the end of the day, my career and health matter more,” he said.

Adjusting to Life at Richards Bay

Since his arrival at Richards Bay, Mdantsane has made only two appearances, both as a substitute.

He was notably absent from the squad when his new team pulled off a surprising 2-0 win against Chiefs in the Betway Premiership.

Though his playing time has been limited so far, Mdantsane is focused on regaining his best form.

As he continues his journey at Richards Bay, many will be watching to see if this move helps him regain his footing and sets him up for a potential return to Kaizer Chiefs.
