Martin Compston announces new travel show as he explores Las Vegas while keeping Line of Duty fans waiting for a comeback

Martin Compston, best known for his role in the hit BBC police drama Line of Duty, has some exciting news for his fans—but it’s not quite the comeback they might have expected.

The 40-year-old Scottish actor recently revealed that he’s filming a brand-new travel show, this time set in the United States, where he spends much of his time.

In a social media post, Compston shared a snapshot of himself in front of the famous Bellagio Hotel fountains in Las Vegas, looking mesmerized by the dazzling city.

He hinted at an adventurous twist to his upcoming series, writing: “Travel show with a twist @terntv are coming to me.

Anybody up for being flung around Vegas?”

His close friend and previous co-host, Phil MacHugh, quickly responded in the comments, adding to the anticipation with a set of emojis: a plane, an arrow, and the American flag.

It seems the duo, who previously explored Scotland and Norway in their travel series, are now ready to take on the glitzy streets of Sin City.

Living the High Life in Las Vegas

Compston has been splitting his time between the U.K. and the U.S., where he resides with his American actress wife, Tianna Chanel Flynn.

The couple enjoys life in Las Vegas, with their luxurious home boasting a sparkling swimming pool and, as any good Scotsman would appreciate, a steady supply of Tennent’s beer on tap.

With this new travel show taking shape, fans can expect a different perspective—one that showcases Martin’s own experiences in the States rather than just exploring new destinations abroad.

Given his knack for storytelling and camaraderie with MacHugh, it’s bound to be an entertaining watch.

Is Line of Duty Making a Comeback?

While the travel series is officially in the works, Line of Duty fans are still eagerly waiting for any confirmation about the return of the beloved crime drama.

Compston, who played Detective Inspector Steve Arnott for six seasons from 2012 to 2021, recently addressed the lingering question in an interview with The Times.

“I just don’t know,” he admitted when asked about a new season.

“I’m busy next year, Vicky’s ridiculously busy, so is Adrian.

If there’s a story that Jed [Mercurio, the show’s creator] wants to tell, he’ll come to us.

As soon as there’s some news, we’ll let you know, but right now, there’s nothing there.

I’d like to pull my waistcoat out again.”

The mention of the iconic waistcoat sparked even more excitement, but Martin humorously admitted that wearing it now would make him feel like he was slipping straight back into Steve Arnott’s shoes.

Keeping Fans Guessing

Compston has been fielding questions about Line of Duty everywhere he goes, including on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X.

When Moyles, 50, pressed him for answers about the show’s return, Martin kept his response playful yet vague.

“I love that people ask and the love that people have,” he said.

“When people stop asking, that’ll be a sad day.

But you don’t want to give fans false hope because people get excited.”

Although there’s no official announcement, he hinted at the possibility of revisiting the show in the future. “We’re not planning anything immediately.

We’d love to do another one at some point, but we’re all working next year on other projects.”

Moyles jokingly urged him to drop everything else and focus on bringing Line of Duty back, saying, “Stop working on other stuff, stop being so selfish!”

Holding Out Hope

Despite the uncertainty, Martin remains optimistic.

“I’m hopeful, and I’m sure we’ll get to it at some point,” he confessed.

“But honestly, once we’re going to do it, you’ll hear it from us first.

We’d be delighted to tell people!”

So, while fans might have to wait a little longer for more Line of Duty, they can at least look forward to seeing Martin embark on a new adventure—this time, in the heart of Las Vegas.

Whether he’s solving crimes on screen or exploring the glitz and glamour of the Strip, one thing’s for sure: Martin Compston knows how to keep his audience entertained.
