Manufacturing fake documents, certificates, Kwanobuhle man arrested

A 38-year-old Kwanobuhle man was arrested, during a successful sting operation that was initiated by the Uitenhage Commercial Crimes Task Team, at his residence in Zolile Nogcasi Road, Kwanobuhle on Wednesday, 9 March 2022 on charges ranging from fraud, forgery and uttering.

Information was received from a trustworthy source that the suspect was manufacturing and supplying fake documents at an affordable price.

False documents such as ID’s, National Senior Certificates, motor vehicle license disks, etc. could allegedly easily be obtained from the suspect without any questions being asked. Police raided the premises on 9 March 2022 and confiscated various hard drives, cellphones and stacks of documents believed to be forged.

The 38-year-old suspect, Mzoxolo Zenani appeared in the Kwanobuhle magistrate’s court on Thursday, 10 March 2022 on the said charges.

It is alleged that the business was operating since 2019. The accused was released on R300-00 bail with strict conditions and the case was remanded for further investigation until 14 April 2022. Investigations are continuing.
