Release Under Investigation After Woman’s Death A man who was initially arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman from gunshot wounds has been released under investigation by Norfolk Police.
Discovery of Woman’s Body Norfolk Police received a report shortly before 7.30am on Monday regarding the discovery of a woman’s body at a property in Lady’s Drove, Emneth. The victim has been provisionally identified as Lesley Page, aged 65, and the provisional cause of death has been recorded as gunshot wounds to the torso.
Arrest and Detention On Monday, a man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at King’s Lynn police investigation centre. Officers obtained an additional 36 hours to question the suspect after seeking approval from Norwich Magistrates’ Court.
Release Under Investigation The police announced on Wednesday afternoon that the man has been released under investigation, signifying that inquiries are ongoing but the individual is no longer in custody.
Ongoing Investigation Detectives continued their investigation at a 17th Century hall located at the village’s edge on Wednesday, with the presence of a forensics van and a marked police car. The property is situated near a pumpkin field and has few neighboring properties.
Statement from Senior Investigating Officer Senior Investigating Officer Alix Wright stated, “We are still working to establish the circumstances that led to Mrs. Page’s death. We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident, however, we are keeping an open mind, and the investigation continues to establish the full facts.”
