Man Arrested for Attacking Pastor in Lagos Church Over False Prophecy

…By Larry John for TDPel Media. The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 26-year-old man, known as Akpannu, on charges of attacking a pastor with a machete following a false prophecy.

The incident occurred in May 2023 at the church’s headquarters in the Ijesha area of Lagos.

The Deceptive Prophecy:

The accused, Akpannu, allegedly stabbed Prophet Anayochukwu, the targeted clergyman.

Akpannu claims that during a prayer session, Prophet Anayochukwu informed him that his sister would die unless specific prayers were conducted.

However, Akpannu reveals that a previous pastor had advised him to purchase coconut and dry gin for a spiritual cleansing, which he believed was necessary for his business success.

The Failed Prophecy:

Enraged by the unfulfilled prophecy and feeling deceived, Akpannu attacked the pastor with a cutlass inside the church premises.

He was dissatisfied with the outcome of the earlier prophecy, which had not yielded the desired results.

Police Intervention:

The incident was promptly reported to the police, who initiated an investigation.

The authorities successfully traced the accused to his hideout and apprehended him.

Accusations Against the Pastors:

During interrogation, Akpannu alleged that both pastors had manipulated and frightened him with false prophecies.

He claimed that they had falsely predicted the death of his sister by January 2023, causing him distress and anxiety.

The arrest of Akpannu highlights the consequences of false prophecies and the potential impact they can have on individuals’ lives.

The police investigation will further delve into the circumstances surrounding this incident, shedding light on the actions of the pastors involved.
