Man, 29, is arrested after ‘incident’ at Horse Guards as police shutdown Whitehall

A 29-year-old man is being held by police this morning after what authorities will only describe as an ‘incident’ on Horse Guards in London.

The suspect has been arrested but the Met will not yet reveal on suspicion of what crime he has been detained.

It happened at a Ministry of Defence property earlier today and he is currently in custody.

The MOD referred all enquiries to the Met Police, who said they would send additional details in the next hour.

A number of government buildings and the MOD Main Building is at Horse Guards, as well as army barracks.

The Met said: ‘Officers are assisting the MOD Police at Horse Guards following an incident earlier this morning.

‘A 29-yr-old has man has been arrested & is in custody.

‘There are no reports of any injuries & there is no known risk to the public.

‘Further updates will be provided in due course.’
