Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, recently shared his thoughts on his departure from the club, showing confidence in his future despite the setback.

In a candid conversation on the Up Back Through Podcast, Mngqithi addressed the criticism he faced after his exit, expressing that he doesn’t let public opinion affect him.

“I don’t think people who speak behind cameras hurt me that much,” Mngqithi stated.

He continued by sharing a piece of advice from his family: “A car that is not moving is not barked at by the dogs.

When you’re doing something right, you become the target.”

Mngqithi Shows Confidence in His Abilities as a Coach

Mngqithi also mentioned his unwavering self-belief, explaining that the opinions of others don’t affect him.

“The person who knows me better than anyone is sis Mato Madlala, the club’s owner.

She knows I’m thick-skinned and I don’t care what people say about me.”

Despite the pressure and criticism, Mngqithi emphasized his confidence in his coaching skills, saying, “I know my capacity, and I’m not seeking anyone’s approval. I’m a strong believer in my principles.”

Mngqithi Reflects on His Success and Future Goals

Reflecting on his coaching journey, Mngqithi mentioned how he’s achieved significant success, saying, “With God’s grace, I think I’ve won too much.”

He added that his ultimate goal was always to win trophies, expressing that without victories, there’s no true sense of accomplishment.

“When I started coaching, I always wanted to win trophies because how can you be a conqueror if you’ve never conquered?” Mngqithi concluded.
